The Challenge

Stangl Law, S.C., a local criminal defense law firm, faced significant challenges with its online presence and marketing strategy in 2014. The firm’s website was outdated and failed to capture potential leads effectively. Moreover, its marketing expenditure was high, yet returns were minimal.

The Solution

The firm approached us to implement a comprehensive strategy to transform its online presence and lead generation efforts. This included updating the website to improve functionality and user engagement, repurposing the ad budget to create valuable blog content optimized for organic search, and reconfiguring digital advertising to target high-intent search queries. 

In doing so, we aimed to increase the quality and quantity of inbound leads, ultimately generating a healthier ROI for its marketing budget.

Our first priority was to redesign the website, introducing marketing automation tools, client-focused information, and opportunities for traffic conversion. Since our retainer kicked off in 2014, we’ve developed two new websites, both equipped with modern aesthetics, dedicated pages for each practice area, informative videos, success stories, testimonials, and an easy contact request function.

To boost lead generation, we redirected the firm's advertising budget toward creating quality, keyword-focused blog posts. We targeted search queries indicating a strong intent to hire an attorney in the firm's key service areas.

Additionally, we developed a simple SMS text notification system to enable immediate follow-up with new leads, providing the firm with a significant competitive advantage.

The Results

The firm's website achieved high organic search rankings, which continues to attract a large amount of qualified traffic — often beating out much larger, more well-resourced firms and even government resources for search visibility.

These high organic search rankings drove (and continues to drive) tons of qualified traffic to the website—a virtual red carpet for them to get help.

Our efforts led to significant results over the years. From March 2015 to December 2022, Stangl Law generated 4,970 new leads. Comparing with the first year, we achieved a 99% increase in lead volume in year two, a 243% increase in year three, and a 401% increase in year seven. 

As a testament to our effective SEO strategy, the firm now ranks on the first page of search results for over 600 legal keywords, bringing in an estimated 92,001 sessions from organic search per month in 2022.

Today, the firm's challenge is managing the large volume of leads generated, a problem we're tackling by establishing a referral network to other law firms. The success of our strategy illustrates the importance of effective digital marketing and its potential for lead generation and business growth.
